Mission

Unlocking Biodiversityfor Biotechnology.

Who We Are

As biotechnology exhausts the same narrow set of model organisms, Asperitas delivers exclusive biodiversity access, computational biology, and synthetic engineering to pharma, agriculture, and industrial partners — turning overlooked species into programmable products in months, not decades.

The Problem

Biotechnology keeps engineering the same narrow set of model organisms — a handful of species asked to solve problems across medicine, agriculture, and industry. Meanwhile, more than eight million species on Earth remain functionally unexplored, each carrying millions of years of chemistry no lab has ever tested.

Why It Matters

One species can change an entire industry.

"The next one hasn't been discovered yet."

GLP-1 Gila Monster The venom compound behind exenatide and the modern GLP-1 drug class — a category analysts project could exceed $100B in annual sales by 2030.
Ziconotide Cone Snail A non-opioid painkiller roughly 1,000x more potent than morphine, approved for patients who don't respond to other therapies.
GFP Jellyfish The fluorescent protein that won the 2008 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and now underlies cell imaging in labs worldwide.
LAL Test Horseshoe Crab The industry-standard assay that still screens nearly every injectable drug and implantable device for contamination.
Taxol Pacific Yew One of the best-selling cancer drugs in history, generating billions of dollars in cumulative sales.
Taq Polymerase Thermus aquaticus The enzyme that makes PCR possible — the foundation of a multi-billion dollar genomics and diagnostics industry.

We believe...

The next generation of biotechnology will not be built from a narrow set of model organisms, but from the full diversity of life.

Asperitas is building the discovery and engineering platform to make that future possible.

Nature has already created solutions to problems across medicine, materials, agriculture, and industry.

Our mission is to find them, understand them, and turn them into scalable products.
